Circulation of the Blood

By murray | May 28, 2009

Although the heart generates most of the necessary pressure to propel the blood throughout the cardiovascular system, it cannot do the entire job by itself.  The blood leaving the left side of the heart flows through the arteries drs-ordersand finally reaches the capillaries in the muscles and other tissues.  At this point, nearly all of its force (or blood pressure) has been used up, so the blood must be forced back to the right side of the heart by other means.

The veins are equipped with a series of one-way valves which ensure that the blood flows only in one direction: back to the heart.  In addition, most veins are surrounded by musacle tissue.  The contraction of the muscles surrounding these veins forces the blood back to the right side of the heart.  Whenever you contract any of your muscles, or move any part of your body, you help propel the blood in your veins back to your heart.  Thus by having a Hamilton Personal Trainer tone your muscles through regular physical exercise you can improve your circulation.  More efficient circultion will supply additional oxygen and nutrients to all of the cells of your body and  it  will improve your mental alertness as well as productivity.  Improved curculation is one of the many  reasons why training with a Hamilton Personal Trainer  can be so invigorating!!
